FAQ - AVS Air Gun Slugs and Pellets - All Sales Final

Why buy AVS air gun slugs?

I make high quality precision air gun slugs and pellets for use in  PCP airguns. Our Slugs are made of 99.9% pure lead which means results in high expansion and stopping power for hunting.  AVS slugs have much higher BC (Ballistic coefficient) than any diabolo Pellet. This means that you PCP airgun can shoot farther with a flatter trajectory. This also means the AVS slugs will carry more velocity and energy downrange. I started making slugs because I shoot long range in high winds. Slugs just do a better job than diabolo pellets at longer distances.

PLEASE NOTE THAT AVS SLUGS ONLY MAKES AIRGUN SLUGS and THEY WILL NOT WORK IN FIRE ARMS.

Do AVS slugs work in every airgun?

The short answer is NO. There is NO GUARANTEE that these slugs will work perfectly all airguns. You will either have to check with the airgun manufacturer or do direct testing yourself. I try my best to under promise and over deliver on this premise. Because airgun barrels do NOT have a standard Groove diameter, which is critical in shooting airgun slugs accurately, AVS slugs offers the most diameters to ensure a prefect fir to your airgun barrel.

I do know that .22 caliber AVS slugs with a .217 diameter work extremely well in the ATI Nova Liberty, Daystate Red Wolf, and FX impact. .2533 and .254 work extremely in the Kalibrgun Cricket and Kral Puncher Jumbo. The .2513 work extremely well in AirMaks Arms Katran. These are a result of direct testing. I have feedback on EBAY and airgun forums (Airgun nation and GTA) that they also work in the Umarex Gauntlet and other guns.  Other feedback on EBAY shows that the .254 AVS slug works well in the Umarex Gauntlet and other Lothar Walther airgun Barrels.

Most 22 airguns are configured for 30 to 60 FPE (Foot Pounds of Energy) and Most 25 caliber airguns are configured to 40 to 70 FPE. This is the idea range for shooting AVS slugs.

Do you guarantee anything?

Yes. My guarantee is that each pack of slugs you receive will be of a uniform shape, weight and diameter. Every slug within a pack will be within .14 grain (1/7th of grain) of each other.

Do you make any promises?

Yes. I can only promise that I will run my slug business as I run my work/life in the past. That is with integrity. I am a one man show and if I can not deliver promptly, then I will promptly refund any funds made for orders that I can not fulfill. I will provide you a honest explanation as to why I can not fulfill an order. (i.e., no lead supply or sickness)

Do you accept returns?

I do Not accept returns as each order for AIRGUN SLUGS is made to specific weights, base and diameter. There is no guarantee that a slug will work in any specific airgun. For this reason I sell Sample packs to help find a slug diameter and length/weight that will work best. All Sales are final.

Shipping?

Shipping is a flat $9.25 no matter how many slugs your order. I ship single pack orders in protective bubble envelope wrapped in padding. larger two pack or more orders are shipped Priorty Mail in small box(es).

Cup Base vs Dish Base vs Flat Base Vs Boat Tail Vs Hollow Base?

Flat base & Boat Tail slugs work a better with VERY high power airgun of a certian twist rate. Cup Base slugs work best out of moderate to high power PCP airguns. My .22 caliber 22 grain slugs have been shot well at velocities of 750 FPS. Dish base slugs work best from high power PCP airgun but can shoot well out of moderate power airgun with a higher twist rate. The bottom line is that I offer CUP BASE slugs as these work best in many moderate to high power PCP airguns with twist rates of 1:17 to 1:19. I personally have not had good results with Hollow base slugs. I can produce them but I currently do not have results to prove that they work well.

Who is Air Velocity Sport?

Air Velocity Sport was created in 2015 by an Airgun Enthusiast. Air Velocity Sport started as a You Tube channel dedicated to helping fellow airgunners enjoy and explore the sport of airgunning. I try to be modest about my airgun tuning abilities but I like to think I’m somewhat of an expert regarding airgun tuning.  You can find me on the airgun forum GTA (Gateway to Airguns). I try to contribute to the benefit of my fellow airgunners as often as possible.
